A humble spoon collection, collecting dust can be a life time of adventure and journeys to distant lands. Recollection is a new series of works that have been influenced my mothers souvenir spoon collection. This work explores the notion of how domestic objects can trigger memories, in this case memories of past holidays, distant lands and loved ones. As traveler's we often take great care in choosing souvenirs for our friends and family.It also looks at the role of the souvenir within the domestic setting, often used as decoration, souvenirs are given pride of place within the home.
